The self-taught and always unsatisfied: André Kertész

I'm going to talk about André Kertész, my favorite photographer. I met their works in a exhibition at the "Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes", on October 15, 2011. The name of the exhibition was "El doble de una vida" and had a lot of pictures divided in 4 groups, related to the places wich he lived: Hungary (1894-1925), France (1925-1936), the United States (1936-1962), the international period (1963-1985) the Color.

I really enjoyed the exhibition because the pictures that he took combined a great composition of daily things. He was always true to what he believed: "What I feel, I do" and his pictures reflect that. The most of the pictures were in black&withe, that made his work was intimate, even if the photo represents a public space or a stray dog. The photo that I like the most in that exhibition was "La Danza del Fauno". I put the image here, to see if you like :)

Even if he won a lot of awards in life, he died with the feeling that the world never understood his art.

The story of my life!

I was born in Santiago, in 1993. I'm the first girl in the family so I was a long awaited baby.  When I was three, my family and I went to Spain for three years. I started kindergarten there, so I learn to speak as a spanish, and actually, thought was spanish long time. When I was six I come back to Chile, specifically Machalí. There is a country side, so I grew up between clumps of corn and chickens in my grandmother's house. I went to Colegio Coya all my life and always exceled in acts of dance or theater, and also as a good humanist.

My life change in 180 degree last year when I went to Santiago to high school, without my family and in a different city.  I studied one year sociology at Universidad de Chile, but I switched to psychology. The best of that was that I meeting new people and also keep my old friends.

And what about my tastes? I like read everything: from poems, to microstories and also, theories of society or thought. My favorite color is yellow since I remember, and is almost and obsession. I love cats and I have three in Machalí, there names are Damasquita, Saltavientos and Ratito. But what I like the most is talk with all the people that I love.
